Please join the Austin Alumni Chapter as we host Christian Catron, president & CEO of Redeem Investments, West Point '01, and McCombs MBA '11. He will be discussing the rapidly changing landscape of commercial real estate and how his company is making the necessary pivots to remain successful in light of recent demographic trends, high inflation, high interest rates, and the current recession cycle. His corporate career includes roles in sales, training, management, business development, project management, and operations, leading as many as 500 teammates at a time within the healthcare space. After nearly two decades, Christian pivoted from “healthcare to wealthcare,” using commercial real estate as his wealth creation vehicle of choice. He began his real estate investing career with single-family homes but quickly turned his attention to commercial investments. He currently runs an investment fund focused on acquiring office buildings for pennies on the dollar and converting them into recession-resilient, carbon-neutral structures, such as medical office buildings, bringing together his healthcare experience with his passion for commercial real estate and renewable energy investing. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in general management and environmental engineering. He continued his education at the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business, earning an MBA degree. After the event, attendees are welcome to go to the rooftop bar at the Otis Hotel across the street for drinks, networking, and ongoing discussion (pay your own way). Parking is available at Rowling Hall and in the AT&T Conference Center. Standard rates apply. The parking garage entrance is on 20th Street. There is also free street parking available in the government district below Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
